Welcome to Kristie in Carolina!
I’m Kristie, a thirty something gal who found her way to North Carolina by way of Indiana and Kentucky. I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. My current job brought me to the great state of North Carolina.
I grew up on a farm in Southern Indiana, where my love of cooking and baking grew by watching and learning from my grandma, who lived next door. She always had a “Sunday Meal” ready for my dad and uncle when they came off the tractors and in for lunch every day. A favorite meal of theirs (and mine, too!) was sausage, biscuits, and gravy. I’ll share that recipe with you soon.
So, you may be wondering, “How did a girl who grew up surrounded by corn fields and cows end up in the fashion industry?” I was a ten-year member of 4-H, and one project I exhibited every year at the fair was Consumer Clothing. The requirements for that project included purchasing and accessorizing an outfit…and so began my passion for shopping and everything fashion. Sign me up for shopaholics anonymous because I haven’t stopped yet!
I’ve created Kristie in Carolina to share my love of fashion, baking, this amazing state, and life in general. Thanks for stopping by; I hope you’ll enjoy this journey with me!
