It’s been a while since I’ve posted a book review, so I’m excited to share this one with you today! Under the Southern Sky is Kristy Woodson Harvey’s most recent novel.
Under the Southern Sky follows both Amelia and Parker along their journey. Amelia, a journalist, is recently separated from her husband while Parker is still dealing with the loss of his wife, Greer, three years later.
Amelia begins working on a story regarding frozen embryos and stumbles upon embryos that belong to Parker and Greer that have been deemed “abandoned”. This unexpected discovery begins to reconnect both Amelia and Parker as they each work through their separate losses.
Under the Southern Sky is about finding yourself and finding love amongst all the trials that life can throw your way. The story gracefully deals with some heavier issues – infertility and loss – while showing the importance of never losing sight of family and friendship.
I say this every time, but Kristy has outdone herself again. Under the Southern Sky made me both laugh and cry, and has taken its spot as my favorite Kristy Woodson Harvey book. I can’t wait to see what’s next from Kristy.
