I know it may not seem like it, but fall is right around the corner!
As I’m writing this, I’m currently sitting outside in 90° heat, which makes it a little hard to get in the fall mood. However, I LOVE dressing for fall so today I wanted to share some ideas of how to transition your wardrobe to fall, while still dressing for those high temps.
Key Transition Pieces
To shop my transition pieces, click the images under each section.
Layers
Layers are perfect for the hot days that turn into cool evenings. These can be anything from a cardigan, denim jacket, or other type of jacket like suede or leather. Layering over a tank, dress, or other summer item can help you transition right into fall. A lightweight sweater paired with a pair of shorts is another great way to mix and match layers.
Print & Pattern
If you know me, you know that I love print and pattern! I am a firm believer that they can be worn year-round. Florals don’t have to be only for spring and summer; they can transition to fall with a cute denim jacket (see layers above ;)). Plaid is another great year-round pattern. As fall comes around, think of bringing in some different colors of your favorite print and pattern pieces.
Dresses
Say “yes” to the dress! Dresses are a key part of my wardrobe. Long sleeve dresses are always so cute with a great pair of boots. You can also take your favorite summer dress or romper, add a jacket and a pair of booties and walk right into fall.
Shorts
This one may throw you off a bit, but similar to dresses, I think shorts are perfect to help you transition your wardroom to fall. Grab a tank and cardigan, and put those with some cute shorts for an easy transitional look. You can also wear a lightweight sweater with a pair of shorts and be on your way!
Booties
This section may be my FAVORITE thing about fall! Taylor and my friends get a good kick out of me because I get at least one new pair of boots or booties every year. A girl can never have too many, right?! While the temps are still warm, a great pair of booties can help you complete your look. Try a pair of open toe as well so you can still show off the summer pedicure!
What are your favorite pieces to help you transition your summer wardrobe to fall? Let me know in the comments below! Be on the lookout for an outfit post as well for that transition 🙂
